ZIMONE

CHIESA PARROCCHIALE DI SAN GIORGIO

La chiesa Parrocchiale è dedicata a San Giorgio ed è stata costruita nel XVIII secolo. All’interno sono interessanti un altare in pietra e un mobile della sagrestia (lavoro di scultura lignea del XVII sec.).

The parish church is dedicated to San Giorgio and was built in the XVIII century. Inside, there is an interesting stone altar and a sacristy piece of furniture (17th century wooden sculpture work).

MUSEO CARRADORI

L’ecomuseo nasce con l’idea di dare valore storico alla tradizione e alle tecniche costruttive dei carri agricoli. Il carro agricolo, usato dagli abitanti di Zimone, era strumento indispensabile che univa il lavoro dei campi alla casa rurale.

The eco-museum was set up with the aim of giving historical value to the tradition and construction techniques of farm carts. The cart used by the inhabitants of Zimone, was an indispensable tool that combined the work of the fields with the rural house.

CHIUSE LONGOBARDE

Sono una serie di resti di muri a secco e castellieri posizionati sulla cima della colline a formare un grande vallo difensivo, esteso per circa 32 km (resti evidenti anche a Poppalo, Cavaglià, Alice Castello). Di probabile origine preistorica, vennero riutilizzati dai Longobardi nell’intento di sbarrare, invano, la strada agli eserciti di Carlo Magno.

They are ancient ruins of dry-stone walls and castellieri (stronghold) positioned on the top of the hills to form a large defensive watt extending for about 32 km. Probably of prehistoric origin, they were reused by the Lombards in order to block, in vain, the way to the armies of Charlemagne.
